The Role of Computer-Aided Diagnosis in Medical Sector

Computer is one of the most necessary tools for everyone. We people are using the computer for every kind of work. Starting from the educational field to healthcare, now all the work is done with computer. Computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) has become one of the key things in medical imaging and diagnostic radiology. By using the computer output of CAD as a secondary option, radiologists make their final decisions. It is a concept established by taking the roles of the physician and computers into account, whereas automated computer diagnosis is a concept based on computer algorithms only. By using CAD, the performance of computers does not have to be comparable to or better than that by physicians, but needs to be complementary to that by the physicians.

The Value of Computer Aided Diagnosis in Medical Imaging

As computer plays a great role in healthcare sector, the value of computer aided diagnosis in medical imaging is also great. By the help of this kind of technique, physicians use to see all the inter body function and observe the anatomical changes. It provides useful information on patient’s medical condition and on the causes of their diseases. After the advancement of imaging technology, a huge number of medical images are products which physicians must understand. Therefore, computer aids are in great demand and become crucial in physician’s decisions based on medical imaging. As a result, computer-aided diagnosis has been investigated and has been an active research area in medical imaging. In today’s world we cannot just avoid the use of CAD in healthcare sectors.
